How do new images, ideas, and meanings emerge in a world shaped by digital networks and artificial intelligence? The works of Susanne Gabler, Anne Nitzpan, and Saskia Senge open up a multifaceted dialogue about creativity, memory, and the dynamics of social orders. Drawing on a variety of materials and artistic strategies, the three artists explore how meanings are not fixed but are constantly shifting through displacement, recombination, and new relationships. Political symbols and language, crystalline processes of memory, and fragments from everyday life and the visual world come together to form open constellations in which the familiar takes on new meanings. In the context of this year’s theme, “Individuality & Intelligence,” the exhibition interprets both concepts as relational processes and invites visitors to rethink perception and authorship in the age of generative systems. Dr. Katharina Schlüter, Head of the Art & Culture Division and Executive Director of the Sparkassen-Kulturstiftung Stormarn, summarizes the artistic approaches as follows: “Generate & Decouple shows that art today provides fewer answers and instead opens up spaces: spaces in which signs, memories, and images reconnect, setting our notions of individuality and intelligence in motion.”
