The exhibition presents the results of a collaboration between microbiologist Dr. Marie-Katherin Zühlke and artists Astrid Brünner and Susanne Gabler. Through this project, the participants aim to raise awareness of the current state of our oceans and inspire a more mindful approach to their management. The artistic-scientific research draws, among other things, on the findings of the DFG-funded Transregio project “Carbon sequestration at Å resolution - CONCENTRATE” at the University of Greifswald and the University of Bremen. Using a variety of media, the collaborating artists explore the exhibition’s theme and highlight the complexity of transformation processes in marine ecosystems through their works. The exhibited pieces were created through an ongoing process of interdisciplinary exchange since 2023. They include works in the fields of printmaking, painting, WordArt, augmented reality, and performance.
